Kean Etro: Designer at Work - Men's Fall 2011 Milan Fashion Week | FashionTV - FTV.com

youtube.com MILAN - Kean Etro sums up his men's collection as an ode to the cow. The cow has always been in his life, he says, from milk in the morning to the shoes he wears to the steaks he eats. He even describes the white spots growing in his black beard with age as making him look like a cow as he gets older. "Now I realize why cows are considered sacred in places like India," he says, "This is the cow in a physical form," he says of his collection which features brown suede, black and white spotted coats and shoes, and leather. It's similar to his collections of the past that are based on certain animals. He has based a past collection on the owl, for example. Male models wearing brown hats and bow ties take on the role of men of the Alps, Himalayans or Austria, where you can find many cows. Etro plays up those cow-heavy locations, or locations that he considers milky and wool or cotton producing. Those two fabrics are also used heavily in the collection. Trousers are stitched carefully and pieces are heavily embroidered. See more @ facebook.com FTV.com
